Apple’s iAds took off on July 1 and apparently they are doing quite well. According to The Next Web, one developer generated $1,372 in ad revenue on the very first day.
They article goes on to compare iAds with Ad-Mob on a random Android app where the highest daily revenue was a whopping $2.93.
Now, to be fair, this is Apple’s new technology, so there are going to be people poking in on the ads to see what they are like. A new comparison should be taken a couple of months from now when the “newness” of iAds wears off. I would suspect that the figures will be way down from the initial days.
However, According to Steve Jobs:
iAd sales are already at $60 million–developers will earn 60 percent of all iAd revenues, translating to pre-launch earnings of $36 million. Brands including Nissan, Citi, Unilever, AT&T, Sears, Target, JC Penney and Best Buy have so far signed on.
Sixty million dollars is certainly nothing to sneeze at.
