In just 3 days, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, Apple sold over 1.7 million iPhone 4′s. This is truly an astounding feat. Apple has never had a more successful product launch, ever!
Apple made the announcement today. Steve Jobs is quoted saying:
“This is the most successful product launch in Apple’s history,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Even so, we apologize to those customers who were turned away because we did not have enough supply.”
One tweet I read stated that 60% of Apple stores and 100% of all the other outlets selling iPhone 4′s were sold out. I tried calling my local store and found out the same thing, not that it was surprising that they didn’t have any.
This news, even though Apple is dealing with reception issues and screen discoloration issues. Sales are on course for just under 3 million iPhones sold by the end of June. Assuming Apple can keep up production speeds.
