2009 Best App Ever Awards Announced

The winners of the 2009 Best App Ever Awards have been announced and I’m actually pleasantly surprised about the “Best App Ever” award.

The process for deciding on what apps to nominate and then vote on started way back on December 7th, 2009. It’s a meticulous process that allows everyday folks to both nominate and then vote on their favorite applications.

The awards are being formally announced at this years Macworld Expo tonight at a party being sponsored by Medialets.

Congradulations to all the winners as well as the second and third place winners.

There was also a 2008 Best App Ever Awards.

    Wow. They need a few more categories. Seriously, would it kill them to list the winners on one page instead of requiring everyone to click through every separate category?

    Still, interesting winners and runners-up. Canabalt, please, give me my life back.

    The categories are not unlike the Oscars except that the TV Oscar show only has the popular awards. There are quite a few awards that we don’t see on TV.

    Plus, they highlight quite a few applications with icon images and such. If they just listed the categories and the winners names, the applications wouldn’t get as much publicity. Believe me when I say that site is all about publicity. :)

    Oh, I completely understand. It’d be nice to be able to get the 30 second summary though. Still, it’s very cool.
